I have been trying to get round to doing this piece for months ever since we introduced the seascape pack , my friend visiting from Australia showed me her seascape and also I had joined a mini workshop at the local guild doing needle weaving so the two set me off, unfortunately our scanner is not quite wide enough to include the whole frame but I think you can get the general idea. Truthfully I have added some odds and bits as I wanted to use a particular button of a head with flowing hair which reminded me of one of the images they have on the prow of an old boat so I have a sunken ship instead of the mermaid silk print which I could have sat on the rocks had I left more room. I really enjoyed doing this piece as it was quite a challenge filling the area of the seabed with so many 'treasures'! |

This is my doily dolly bag - I have been a bit lazy really because I have used a lace doiley and over embroidered it with green seed beads, taken brown and green silk ribbon flowers and set the cameo amid the flowers and small brown lace leaves which trail down to a circle of coffee and cream silk buds. I used a plate for the shape and then placed the bag frame above and drew round them to obtain the pattern adding 1/4" for seams | The bag is made from cream brocade with a gold leaf pattern, has a cream silk lining and I have sewn the bag together around the edges on the outside using gold thread and making buttonhole bars with gold beads between each stitch, which is hardly visible in this scan. The bag fabric is sewn to the bag frame with green seed beads which match the seed beads on the lace. Perhaps I haven't been so lazy after all!!! |

Two Pot Pourri Sachets for you to try to hang on a door handle perhaps - on the left a blue silk dupion heart, 6 mother of pearl buttons form the flower and buttons from our micro mini button packs form the centre , 5 mini lace leaves and a few pearl seed beads complete the design. The sachet on the right has a hand dyed square lace frame topping a silk print of a lady on a horse, the corners of the lace framer have been beaded with floral garden beads and white pearls and drops sewn around the edges to complete. A nice little gift for a special person perhaps |
