All the fabrics and embellishments on this page have an oriental appeal to really get your creative juices flowing. They can be used for crazy quilts, bags, clothing, and anything you wish to make with an oriental theme and can be used in conjunction with the brocades and plains on our other fabric page.

When making quilts with these fabrics the Japanese tend to use only one main fabric with a large pattern for each block pieced with plains and textured of the colours taken from the main fabric and then the blocks have a plain sashing between them which pulls the whole piece together. There are many books on the market today using these fabrics that contain instructions not only for quilts but small designs as well and these pieces are ideal for these projects. They are really very beautiful items. A pack of fabric and a pillow pack of 'Oriental bits' shown below would make an excellent present for a craft loving friend.
